Haldia Institute of Technology is an independent technical education institute located in West Bengal, India. A large number of students get trained here under the direction of eminent scholars. Some of them have become famous global personalities. HIT is one of the oldest Institutes of Technology in the country. It has gained the immense popularity in the field of engineering in recent years.

This college has earned an enormous reputation as a premier institution for training students for a successful career in several educational fields. It is recognized by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education). It is an autonomous engineering institute. It is affiliated to MAKAUT (Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology), West Bengal. It is a private institute. It was established in 1996. The Haldia Institute of Technology chairman is Lakshman Chandra Seth, and its director is Manabendra Nath Bandyopadhyay. HIT, Haldia is spread across an area of 37 acres.

Haldia Institute of Technology: Schools, Departments, and Courses

On categorizing the educational department of Haldia Institute of Technology, there are five primary schools.

School of Engineering

It is one of the five primary schools of Haldia Institute of Technology. And this department is mainly responsible for all the courses and stuff related to the engineering sector. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil engineering, Production Engineering, Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, and Instrumentation and Control engineering come under this school.

School of Biotechnology and Chemical Food

Another school of Haldia, the School of Biotechnology and Chemical Food, consists of Food Technology, Biotechnology, and Chemical Engineering.

School of Computer, Electronics, and Informatics

This school of Haldia Institute consists of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science Engineering, and Computer Application

School of Applied Science and Humanities and School of Management and Social Sciences

These two schools consist of respective departments, i.e., the Department of Applied Sciences and Management respectively. Haldia Institute of Technology offers a total of 34 courses across its 3 streams. There are 13 Btech courses of which Computer Science & Engineering (Cyber Security), Computer Science & Engineering (Data Science), and Computer Science & Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) are new. There are five Mtech courses and MBA and MCA. The three streams are Engineering, IT & Software, and Business & Management Studies.

In Halida, hostel facilities are available for both boys and girls. The hostel of Haldia Institute of Technology is spread across 24315 square meters. Library, Bank facilitated with ATM, post office, medical store, laundry, and restaurant facilities are some of the facilities students of Haldia can enjoy.

This fee structure is subject to revision over time. In addition to the amount mentioned above, University /Autonomy examination fees, cost of the uniform of the institute, and when asked by the university or institute, must be paid separately.
